Fine Antique French Grand Tour Brass Sewing Etui Mini paintings.
This is a rare and really lovely French brass Etui set with grand tour paintings of historical French landmarks. It measures 3.75” x 2.25” and about 1” high. The brass is etched with tiny flowers and other designs both front and back. Opening the case reveals a midnight blue velvet lining fitted with an etched little silver needle case, a silver needle type device and little scissors. There is a silver thimble which is a replacement. As you can see the scissors are missing one handle. Otherwise the pieces are in good shape. The case closes without problems but there are little gaps on both sides. Most importantly the miniature paintings and the glass covers are in excellent condition.  Considering the age and fragility of this item I would say it’s in good shape!
