    Two 19th Century Tole Hand Painted  Knitting Needle Cases Red Gold Ivory Copper Leaves
    These are unique and very pretty.  Hand painted tole with caps on one end.   I believe these were for storing knitting needles but I may be wrong.   The red and gold measures 14 3/4 inches in length and 1 1/2 inch in width.  The creamy ivory one with leaves in shades of gold and copper measures 13 inches and 1 1/4 inch width.  Please view all the photos. There is expected crazing to paint but overall  they retain most of their color and in good condition.  Quite a charming pair whatever they were used for!  If you happen to have a definitive bit of knowledge on what they were used for I would love to know.  Feel free to message for any questions or comments.
